Unable to name and create variable in Variables window

nopunintendo 4 years ago updated by Lazlo Bonin (Lead Developer) 4 years ago 3

Unity 2017.2.0f3
Bolt 1.2.1

Fresh installation of Bolt. In the Variables window, I'm able to enter a name into the "(New Variable Name)" field, but the preview text keeps re-appearing on top of my text. When I try to submit that text, I get the "Please enter a variable name" dialog.

I can successfully create object variables via the Variables Component editor, but all of the text fields within the Variables window display the above behavior.

I've reopened the project, restarted Unity completely, restarted my computer, with no change to the text field behavior.

Hi nopunintendo! (Clever username :D)

I can't reproduce this on my machines.

Which operating system are you using?

Do you have third-party plugins installed in your project?

Hello Lazlo,

You'll be happy to know I just deleted and reimported Bolt, and that appears to have fixed the issue.

I'm using Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601).

I have the following other assets imported:

Animation2D
Cinemachine
SFSoftShadows
PostProcessingStack v2
TypeSafe

Weird, but I'm glad you got it fixed!

I'll close this for now, feel free to comment again if the issue arises again.
