incorporating own code

macguffin 4 years ago updated 4 years ago 2

Hi just got Bolt and I'm loving it. I'm a programmer but new to unity and this has really jump started my development. It's the first time I've used  Visual Scripting but there is something very satisfying about it. It also makes it so easy to scope out a large project .

I want to link to some of my own code and I have done so, am I correct in thinking I need to "update unit options" each time I write a new class or add a new method?

Maybe a future feature would be to be able to just update the code you have written so you don't have to wait so long to get access to your methods. Or am I going about it the wrong way?

Another idea is to have an Events Inspector. It would be great to be able to see a list of all your custom events so you could easily find the name of one you have created.

Really excited to see how Bolt grows as it's super intuitive and a joy to use. Looking forward to some of your road-map features particularly the DOTween intergration

Cheers

Matt

Hi Matt! Welcome to the community :)

Thanks for the kind words.

See here about the faster unit database update:

I've been working on it yesterday, and the new system is almost instantaneous. It'll make it into the next version.

And see here about better event definitions:

Cheers,
