Shortcuts for units

I'm new to Bolt, but I had used another visual scripting engine Quest3D for quite some time.  I found the connection lines in Q3D are much less tangled than in Bolt thanks to its ability of creating shortcuts.  Shortcuts are instances of a specific unit in a graph, but with only outputs and no inputs.  In this way, a user may create many shortcuts and let them provide data to other units instead of making connection all from the original unit and creating many long and tangled curves.

(Sorry for the bump/necro, I'm doing some roadmap grooming following the Unity acquisition!)

This is now supported in Bolt 2 Alpha as port proxies (wireless port connections).
