Variable set in start gets null result in later flow

I have an issue that I can't figure out. Maybe it's a bug, but it's probably me missing something.

I find in my start event a game object and set it as a variable (graph here. I tried with object too)

Then I need to used this game object to be set on my "On Trigger Enter" event. But even if it's properly filled in my start event with the proper object and even in the variable manager it appears properly. It just get a "Null" in the flow.

Am I missing something here?
