What: Drag Node Lag




As you can see, it takes a little under a second for the node to start dragging after being selected with a click and hold. 

This is with the Graph Inspector open and the Inspector hidden.

Errors will keep spamming the console until Unity locks up, or until I select another game object in the Hierarchy, even if the graph window remains constant between the selection (i.e. doesn't close or change to another graph). 

Also note, if I remain on the game object, the node will be there after deletion, but not selectable (sometimes it will have a graphical error, such as no text). Additionally, when selecting another game object, the node will then disappear.


EDIT: Deleting another node in the same Flow Machine, even after navigating to and from another Flow Machine, did not throw the error a second time around. 


EDIT 2: I had a hunch, so I just tested it to make sure. This error only occurs on the FIRST deleted node in a graph 

(That is, a node at any level in a graph Tree, if that analogy makes sense.) 

After that, you can delete and restore nodes in any Machine in a Tree, and it will not throw any errors. It might be a side effect of updating existing graphs. 


EDIT 3: I just tested it, and this error does not occur in a newly created Machine, whether or not it is Embedded or a Macro. It also does not occur in a newly created Machine that is referencing a Pre-Update Macro. Unfortunately I do not have a Pre-Update GameObject using a macro to test if the error effects those as well, as mine were all embedded Machines.


EDIT 4: I ran into the issue again, which kinda throws some mystery back into this, as it was a graph that I had already *Primed* by deleting a node. This time I composed a more detailed view of what's going on.



As you can see, the first deletion threw no errors, where the first deletion of a node in any pre-existent graph has thrown that error so far. Also, you can see how whenever the error is thrown, it spams the Console fairly rapidly, and how that stops when another GameObject is selected in the Hierarchy, as well as the node being being removed from the graph. Finally, you can see the glitched graphics of a deleted node, prior to selecting another GameObject.


EDIT 5: Sorry for the lack of stack trace on this, I was in a bit of a rush to get a screen capture before my unity locked up. 

Anyways. I deleted a section of the graph. No problem there. But then I decided to try testing the Undo feature, and that's when all hell broke loose. Many repeating errors of a similar nature, selecting another GameObject did nothing this time, and when I did select one, it actually caused the Graph window to go blank and lock up.



Edit 6: So after refactoring a bunch of my graphs, it would seem this error is triggered by the Branch node most of the time. If not by deleting that node directly, by deleting a connected node.

Turned on relations to better show the connections.

Simply put, the Random node gets entered, output is tested to see if it's identical to the previously generated Random number. If so, reroll a new Random number. Else Continue.

I would expect this to be fine, if a little messy looking. (And in practice, it does work just fine). Could probably clean it up using events even. (Trigger on true, receive on the input side of random).

Selecting the node displays warning: Exit is connected, but it is never triggered.

What: Dragging Macro into Graph Bug


No picture necessary for this one. This did not happen in the Top Parent graph, that worked fine.

Dragging and dropping a Macro into a Flow Machine appears to not be working, but then on Save, the nodes will appear all of a sudden.

What: Graph Tab Name (Terminology Mismatch)

When inside a Flow Machine, the name of the Graph tab displays Flow Graph. There could be a difference between Machine and Graph that I'm just missing. Not a big deal though, just something I noticed.

What: Connection to Flow Machine Macro not Connecting.


I'm having trouble with reproducing this, but I'll try and get a gif of it next time it occurs. Shortly after placing a new macro into a Flow Machine, I could not connect anything to that macro. Entering the macro, then exiting the macro solved the issue.


EDIT 1: Alright, on that same node I just had the same thing happen to me, but for output instead. Here's a gif of the action.




EDIT 2: It's not limited to just macros. I had just deleted part of the graph, and was bridging the gap.

What: Deletion of a selection box (term?) not working properly.



I had created the box by accident, hence it's odd location and size. Anyways. In similar fashion: first attempt with the delete key just deselects, doesn't delete. Second attempt with the right click->delete just deselects. To make it go away, all I had to do was select another game object.

  1. ThreadAbortException: Seemingly harmless, but I'll look into it. Do you have the experimental "Automatically Update Unit Options" editor preference checked?
  2. Graph Pan Lag: Waiting for your more detailed screenshots in Discord.
  3. Build Failure: Silly bug indeed. I'll fix it for the next alpha, but in the mean time, you can set the importer settings on Ludiq/Assemblies/Ludiq.Platforms to be Editor only, not all platforms.
  4. Drag Node Lag: On hold until #2 is adressed
  5. Delete/Cut Errors: Waiting on the initial errors (clipped from that screenshot) on Discord
  6. Never Triggered warnings: On hold until #5 is adressed. (Related to #5, #9, fixed I think)
  7. Macro Drag & Drop: Will check
  8. Machine Breadcrumb Label: Minor, not a priority ATM. Not a regression I think?
  9. Cannot Connect: Any error/warning in the console?
  10. AotList: Not a regression I think? Seems like lack of type hinting. Minor atm.
  11. Scroll Wheel in prefs: Not a regression. You can scroll, but on the right part only. Known issue.
  12. Formula unit: Noted, will fix.
  13. Redo: Are you sure you're pressing the correct shortcut? Redo should work, but it's Ctrl+Y in Unity.
  14. Ctrl+Multiselect: Noted, will fix.
  15. NullReferenceException for outgoingConnections: How to reproduce?
  16. Delete Group: Noted, will fix.
