I really like my nodes to be aligned and node snapping similar to in Shader Forge is super helpful and would let me avoid using align operations everytime I create a new node.

There is node snapping under tools/options for bolt. Take a look.

Good idea! Was just using Shader Forge yesterday and enjoying the snapping, indeed.

In the mean time, you can turn on snap to grid to make the aiming a little bit easier, or use the align operations.
