I have had this now under a week. As a Playmaker user I was first slumped as Bolt works backwards, just like real Unity scripting. In fact it is unity c# just visual. So if you learn this you learn c# automatically at the same time.
It is very appreciating to the eyes, it is how visual scripting should be and it is to my opinion going to be the top of such assets in a very quick time.
I had difficulties at first as there are no video tutorials or good getting started stuff, BUT the community is growing and tutorials are starting to appear and even I will start making video tutorials as I go along.
This is already an expensive asset but having it now and seeing its potential makes me think that I actually got it at a bargain. Just look at Nottorus. The developer, even though on holiday till the beginning of September is still very active. He will be back soon and the community is growing, so go there and look around and just ask your questions.
Don’t give up, as I nearly did because of lack of tutorials. They are coming and I myself realize that Bolt will become big. Why? Answer: Nesting, this makes bolt superior and all 3rd party add-ons and your scripts automatically useable in bolts fuzzy finder. I love it.
I can highly recommend bolt, even in its baby stages it’s already awesome and will most definatly just get better.
TIP: Go through his very good documentation completely. And ask questions if you are unsure. Everyone that can help you will help you.
So let’s all work together and share with each other our machines that we create. You can save anything as a macro, which is an asset and is reusable code. Don’t invent the wheel twice. (Unless you’re the guy that invented the sphere wheel, then twice is ok.)
