Is the runtime unity3d independent like <overwatch>?

From the GDC (schedule.gdconf.com/session/networking-scripted-weapons-and-abilities-in-overwatch), it seems that the visual scripting of <overwatch> can run on server-side.

I am making a online game too, most logic runs on the server-side, so if the runtime can runs on linux with mono that will be great.
