Setting parent to null throws a graph editor warning

GhostAegis 3 years ago updated 3 years ago 2

Just a heads up, the graph editor turns any of the set parent nodes (rect or transform) to orange if you try to set parent to null, and throws a "Value cannot be null." warning in the inspector.

Works fine in play mode all the same, but since this is the correct way to unparent an object, the nodes should indicate that in the editor and not throw a warning.

This is a harmless false-positive. Unfortunately, it can't be detected properly, so Bolt errs on the side of caution.

If you want, you can disable null-checking. See the manual page on Predictive Debugging for more information:

Makes sense, thanks for the heads-up!
